Barbados Sightseeing - East Point Lighthouse

East Point Lighthouse is also known as Ragged Point Lighthouse and has been in existence in Barbados since 1875. This white stone, conical tower is 97 feet in height, with a black lantern and white gallery. Still operational, this lighthouse has a focal plane of 213ft and one white flash every 15 seconds. Of the three operational lighthouses in Barbados, East Point has the most picturesque view. Surrounding light station buildings appear to be abandoned and in ruins. East Point Lighthouse is located at Ragged Point in the parish of St. Philip on a bluff above the Atlantic. This location is the most easterly point of Barbados.
