The Restaurant at Southsea: In April 2004, after only five months of operation, The Restaurant at Southsea was selected as one of the top 66 new restaurants in world by the Conde Nast Traveler 'Hot Tables'. Created by Barry Taylor and Peter Bourne, two of Barbados' brightest culinary talents The Restaurant at Southsea was opened late 2003 and has been topping the list of awards ever since, including winning the Barbados Restaurant Of The Year in 2004 and 2005, and as being the only restaurant in Barbados to be given a Four Diamond rating by the Triple A Association. Café Sol: The island's original Mexican restaurant and bar, Café Sol is owned and operated by an American and Irish husband and wife team. This lively Margarita Bar & Grill bursts to life 7 days a week, as visitors, and locals, feast from an extensive Tex-Mex menu and enjoy pulsating Latin sounds in a cozy and casual atmosphere. There is indoor as well as outdoor seating where you can sit and watch the world go by on the busiest street corner in "The Gap." Margaritas are a specialty - 15 fruity flavors to boot! And, of course, they are available by the pitcher. They have 2 happy hours daily; one from 6-7pm and one from 10-11pm. The extensive menu boasts a wide variety of Mexican dishes - from cheese nachos to sirloin steak to soft tacos, all at very affordable prices.
